Objetivo Geral: Refletir sobre equal rights e gender equality.

Objetivos Específicos:

a) Relacionar texto visual com texto verbal e interpreta-los;

b) Trabalhar em conjunto;

c) Ampliar vocabulário;

d) Discutir sobre equal rights e discrimination; (IF TIME: Discutir a diferença entre equality e equity);

e) Refletir sobre gender equality;

f) Posicionar-se criticamente em relação aos temas discutidos;

g) Refletir sobre mudanças de atitudes.

Recursos Didáticos:

a) Quadro;

b) Giz/Piloto;

c) Computador;

d) Projetor;

e) Slides;

f) Imagens;

g) Texto impresso.

Procedimentos Metodológicos:

1. Para o iniciar da aula, será apresentada a imagem em anexo (ANEXO 1) e trabalhada as seguintes perguntas:

• Can you describe the participants of this image?

• Are they a homogeneous group? (Are they the same?)

• What about our group? Which differences can we find here?

• What is the relation between the words and the participants?

• They have differences, but, what do they have in common?

2. Em seguida, será pedido aos alunos para lerem o texto (ANEXO 2) em dupla com os seguintes objetivos:

1. Ler o texto

2. Sublinhar palavras transparentes;

3. Circular palavras desconhecidas;

4. Interpretar a ideia geral do texto.

3. Dando continuidade, será mostrado aos alunos duas colunas de palavras (ANEXO 3): Uma com vocabulário do texto, e a outra com respectivos significados fora de ordem. Eles deverão relacionar uma coluna com a outra e, assim, ter a compreensão do texto mais facilitada.

4. Após o esclarecimento de vocabulário, seguirão perguntas para abranger a discussão do texto:

• Does the text have a relation to the image we discussed?

• Where can we find this kind of text?

• What is the aim of the text? To inform? To reflect? If so, ______ about what?

• Which groups does this text mention?

• Do these groups have equal rights?

(IF TIME: Discutir com os alunos a diferença entre equality e equity. Explicando que equal rights seria para nós como seres humanos em conjunto, e equity seria para nós como indivíduos.)

• What about women? Do they have the same rights of men?

• What do you think about discrimination?

5. Por fim, os alunos serão conduzidos às duas últimas perguntas:

• Igualdade de oportunidades é necessário, mas não suficiente para alcançarmos a igualdade de gênero. What other conditions are also important to achieve gender equality and end the discrimination?

• In your opinion, how can world leaders and the government promote gender equality in our society? What about us? How can we do our part?
